LightBorn was born from a passion in Lighting System developement (Emergency ones to be more specific) and a will to fix a long living issue.
Roblox never had a “standard” on such developement, most of them are either paywalled, hard to work with, or not in the scope needed.
From here, LightBorn was created to try and change that and have a trully Free and Open Source standard for such.
Fun fact: at the current state of development, the current vision is for LightBorn to be way more than just ELS development, but this will come later along the road, for now we are working on having the engine be stable.
Due to it’s early stage you are to expect “basic” features such as siren control, lighting and the controlling UI.
While there are some aspect of moddability available, it is quite not there yet.
Not quite yet, but it’s getting there.
LightBorn is currently in early development and haven’t been used in production yet.
However, it has been proven to hold on smaller projects I have taken parts on.
We are always improving !
LightBorn releases are built directly from source thanks to GitHub Actions.
It has no obfuscation, hidden lines are anything of the sort.
This of course, can be checked by anyone, feel free to do so.
